Ned steals a potato here, a loaf there. Oh, and a tree. A big tree.

He leaves school at 12, works in the fields - honest graft. But Mammy dies; Ned goes to England. More graft, more wits. More fists.

Eventually he builds a successful business.

Suddenly Ned is Chairman of a football club. New challenge, fantastic time. He trains with Barry McGuigan, entertains George Best and Muhammad Ali.

Far from scraping for crusts of bread, Ned is someone.
