Your husband, your friends, the husbands and wives of your friends - who knows what secrets they may be hiding? And maybe it doesn't matter - unless your husband happens to be Jake, a bored investigative journalist with a very nasty streak indeed.
It is a year since Jake's brutal but unsolved murder. Isabella, his widow, is staying in a remote house on the edge of Dartmoor's sweeping wastes and craggy tors, with the same friends who were present on the night of his death. When a chance discovery brings her an unwelcome realisation that there was a much darker side to Jake, she begins to reinvestigate his death. But before long her enquiries result in another killing, and the nightmare begins again.
