Someone is killing the shape shifters of Indianapolis. It could be a criminal with a grudge, it could be the Catholic Church which, until recently, considered shape shifters to be minions of the Devil. Or it could be a proto-shifter who hasn't become one yet, but can sense the presence of shifters.

Police lieutenant Caitlinn O'Shay of the Indianapolis Police Department's Homicide Unit has a personal stake in this. She's a 900 year old shape shifter, something unknown to the rest of the department. Time is running out because she's on the target list.
