The Boomtown Rats: On a Night Like This

"Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats were touring in support of their last album together, In The Long Grass, when this concert film was shot at London's Dominion Theater in 1985. The Boomtown Rats: On A Night Like This has been transferred to disc in its original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The image quality is quite good for a location video shoot from the mid-80's, and the picture quality is reasonably sharp and well-colored, though the cheesy period video effects date this as a relic of the early years of MTV. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo and the fidelity is good, through the mix sounds a bit hollow and short in punch. The songs are in English, with no multiple language options or subtitles included, and no bonus features appear on this release. Die-hard Boomtown Rats fans will be glad to see this document of their last era with Geldof, but it will probably seem a bit skimpy to more casual observers."
