From Helmand to Horse Guards

My name is Leopold Fitzroy Gordon; I am the fifth child of six brothers and sisters (three Boys and three girls). Thank God for my mother, Mable Lewis-Gordon, who taught us about the word of God. I was born in Jamaica West Indies and immigrated to the USA at the age of seven to New Rochelle, New York. I attended school and church every week. We were raised to trust and love Jesus Christ. I was baptized at the age of 17.

I developed a talent to write poetry, compositions, and short stories. I graduated from New Rochelle High School at the age of 18, and then I attended Westchester Community College. I also ran Cross Country and Track and Field, part of the Poetry Club. I took a Creative Writing course and learned a lot about poetry and writing and advance humanities for gifted students.
