The Fourth Man

Filmed in 1979, Fourth Man finally gained an American release in 1984. Dissipated, bisexual novelist Gerald Reve (Jeroen Krabbe) spends a besotted several days heading towards a speaking engagement. En route, he strikes up a relationship with kinky hairdresser Christine Halsslag (Renee Soutendjik). She has been married three times, and intends to make Reve the "fourth man." Because Christine's previous husbands have all met with bizarre deaths, Reve's already feverish imagination begins to run riot. Nothing that he can conjure up from his own mind, however, can prepare him for the Hell-on-Earth that Christine has in store for him.
