Silence

Tom and Karen Welford live in a fairy tale existence -- a successful marriage; wealth; good looks; a beautiful child; and Edgewater, their sprawling estate on Long Island's exclusive Gold Coast. But beneath this veneer of carefree gentility, the Welford's are playing out a sordid tale of dark obsessions and double lives, of sadism, addiction, and abuse. Worst of all their little boy has been scared literally speechless by what he has seen.

Drawing strength from a secret lover, Karen tries to flee her husband's twisted tyranny and put the madness and deception behind her. But she needs money for her escape. So Karen turns to a shadowy figure who, unbeknownst to her, harbors plans to ensnare all three -- husband, wife, and lover -- in a fiendishly clever trap that will turn them against one another, and lead to blackmail, betrayal, and murder.
