Functions and Algebra

A concise algebra,trigonometry,pre-calculus text whose central theme is functions and graphs. Systems of linear equations are solved algebraically and represented geometrically. Exponential and logarithmic functions are presented in detail with applications. Trigonometric functions are used in models of periodic phenomena,and sine and cosine are first defined using motion on a unit circle. Use of a programmable graphics calculator is encouraged for graphing explorations and for implementation of algorithms such as Gaussian elimination and the secant method.
