The information contained in this publication is intended to provide Directors of Volunteer Services (DVSes) and Human Resource (HR) professionals with an overview of some of the key legal/regulatory issues and human resources practices and policies that should be considered in developing any volunteer program. The intent of this resource is to increase awareness of select laws, regulations, practices, and policies to enhance conversations among DVSes and their HR Departments, Risk Management Departments, legal counsel and other key stakeholders.
