This book covers an important and developing area of work for the European Commission and for the EU member states. In the past, agriculture policy did not take sufficient account of the important relationships between farming and the environment. This book helps guide our understanding of one important aspect of rural land use, namely the management of land for biodiversity and especially for birds.
