Apprentices to Genius: A tribute to Solomon H. Snyder

I started writing meaningful poems/songs that describe what I have gone through with depression. It seems like its impossible to overcome depression, I started finding ways to cope with it. I want other people especially teenagers to relate to what I've gone through with depression, cutting, anxiety and self-hatred. I wrote these songs to help me see that there's good in the world, even if its a small thing like a beautiful flower. Some of the ways I used to cope with my life were not always the best ways. I want my poems to address the hurt and pain I went through, It helped me to open my eyes to the world. The title "Escaping My Shadow" always had meaning to me. To "escape" my shadow I would either have to fly or stay in the darkness. I want people to relate to what I went through and learn from it in a positive way. Life has ups and downs so do my poems. There are so many people who don't understand what depression is like. I made this book to be creative and express my feelings, I hope you can relate too.
