A Brazilian Dairy Cooperative: Transaction Cost Approach in a Supply Chain

This case study examines unique supply chain challenges faced by a Brazilian dairy cooperative based on values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity. It maps the co-op’s supply chain, identifies its primary members, introduces a transaction cost strategy for improving efficiency, and illuminates managers' concerns about this approach. Focusing on realistic issues and challenges throughout, it offers exceptional value to both students and practitioners.
