Reading Romantics: Texts and Contexts

This collection of thirteen essays, some previously unpublished, on Byron and Wordsworth is united by a continuing endeavor to join formalism with wider concerns. Together, they reconnect romantic literature with the motives from which it springs and the social relations within which it exists.
