An Introduction to the Psychotherapies

The concept of psychotherapy--what it is, how and when it is used, and whether it is effective--often seems bewildering to the trainee. The contributors have attempted to reduce this bewilderment. Each one has taken a particular form of psychotherapy (e.g. family therapy, crisis intervention, sex therapy, and so forth) and described the goals, techniques, and applications specific to it.
