The paediatric endocrinologist deals not only with common problems involving growth, puberty, and diabetes, but also with specific hormonal defects involving glands such as the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenals, and pituitary. These can vary from common variants of normals which will be encountered by all doctors dealing with children, to more rare disorders requiring specialist input.
