Osiris, Volume 7: Science after '40

The fine essays in this present volume of Osiris make two things plain. One is that we know surprisingly little about how and why science has changed in the time since World War II began in earnest and the relationship of science to government and society underwent a profound and consequential change. The other is that 'science after '40' is a field full of subjects worthy of the historian's mettle.
