Media and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita: Lost and Found

Hurricane Katrina, striking the gulf coast areas of Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi on Aug. 29, 2005, has been termed the worst natural disaster in modern U.S. history. Although the impact has certainly been felt in political, economic, and social terms, the impact on the media and the impact of media coverage have largely been ignored. This book tells the stories of the reporters, newspapers, and broadcast stations that were most affected by Katrina and that were honored for their coverage and their struggles to cover the aftermath.
