KEITH BAXTER is an internationally renowned risk management expert who has specialised in the field for over 20 years.

In the early part of his career, Keith worked on a number of very large defence programmes that all went very wrong. Intrigued by the management failures that seemed to happen repeatedly, he started to focus on how risk management could avoid these disasters. His frustration with traditional risk management approaches led to the development of the ABCD risk management process and associated tools.

In the 1990s, with the management consultants AT Kearney, Keith applied ABCD-based techniques to virtually every industry and on every continent (apart from Antarctica). In 2000, Keith founded De-RISK as an organisation that provides Enterprise Risk Management solutions based on the ABCD process and Assure web-based toolset.

A regular on the risk management conference circuit and frequently published in leading journals, this is his first book and the first book to be published that covers the ABCD methodology.

For recreation he likes to apply risk management to a variety of risky pursuits that tend to involve climbing up or riding down mountains.
