Clovis Blade Technology: A Comparative Study of the Keven Davis Cache, Texas

This study concentrates on the North American Clovis site of Keven Davis Cache in Texas, though it is set in a continental context. Following an introduction to the lithics, especially Clovis blade technology, the site and its materials are introduced and examined (including microscopic examination). Lithic technology and caching behaviour are used to make inferences on types of subsistence strategies, although not terribly successfully. While the book concentrates on the Clovis manifestation in its own right, the failure to address behavioural and ecological questions, and their impact on typology, somewhat weakens this interesting and up-to-date survey of the Clovis xomplex. The study focuses primarily on typological aspects that include the technological peculiarities of Clovis lithics.
