The Arms Race at a Time of Decision: Annals of Pugwash 1983

A tremendous danger hangs over the world: nuclear war between the superpowers. This danger looms much larger at present, after the breakdown of the negotiations on strategic and intermediate nuclear forces, the further build-up of nuclear arms by both sides, and the prospects of extending the nuclear arms race into space.The present situation is the direct outcome of several critical decisions taken in 1983.
