Politics, Geography and 'Political Geography': A Critical Perspective

Painter develops and applies a new interpretative perspective for thinking about the relationship between politics and geography. He examines a range of political processes, institutions and conflicts to demonstrate how space and place are centrally involved in their development. The formation of modern states and their contemporary restructuring, imperialism and post-colonialism, international relations and the aftermath of the Cold War are among the issues discussed.
