The Song of Leanne

With winter drawing near, her savings exhausted and her lover lost, Lea Mere leaves home to seek her fortune. She chooses to return to a country she left five years before, hoping to find some summer sun and perhaps to rekindle an old romance. Lea takes a job managing the remnants of a small company that has just been taken over by a large and corrupt corporation. By day she wrestles with the dark side of corporate politics, sometimes successfully, sometimes not. And by night she experiences the pleasures of Australia’s glorious Gold Coast, in the company of a man she might come to love. Lea is both clever and bold. But will she fail like her predecessor?

The underlying theme of ‘The Song of Leanne’ is based on the great French epic ‘La Chanson de Roland’. Chapter headings are taken from Robert Browning’s poem ‘Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came’.
