Dave presently lives at Hartsfield Village, a retirement community, in Munster, IN where he writes a weekly publication, "The Jabberwock". He was born October 20, 1918 in Wheeler, IN and grew up in Valparaiso,IN. He graduated 1937 from Valparaiso High School; South Bend (IN) College of Commerce 1940; 1948 Indiana University,Bloomington,IN.
Dave retired from Inland Steel (E. Chicago, IN) Wage and Salary Dept. with 31 years of service. Active in community affairs, he served on Munster PTA; Little League; Munster High School Booster Club; Munster Chamber of Commerce; NW Indiana Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Alumni Assoc; Hammond Jaycees; Lake Area United Way, and correspondent for Calumet Press News and HeyRegion.com. He served 5 years in the Army during WWII 1941-46 and was separated from active duty as a Captain, Infantry; a Life Member of Reserve Officer's Assoc; he was President of Chapter 19 and Vice President Air
Dept of Indiana; transferred from Army Reserve to the Air Force Reserve in 1954 where he attained the rank of Lt. Colonel assigned to USAFRR in 1972.
As an avid golfer Dave spent many years at his beloved Woodmar Country Club in Hammond, IN. He scored 4 holes in one during his golfing career.
