"WHO SAID A FELONY WOULD CONTROL YOUR DESTINY?" was birthed during a sentence that the author faced during his adult years; however it was conceived many years prior to the incarceration that took him out of the confines of his home, away from the sanctity of his marital union, and off his post as a provider, law abiding citizen and contributor. The incident sparked a deep thought process within. In law and life, we often go through things that make us wonder, "How did this happen to me?" and for some it is quite clear that certain actions will yield certain consequences and repercussions. Then there is the dynamic of a person who winds up with a situation that they are neither guilty of nor respectively vulnerable to. The term "felony" in this body of work is used both literally and metaphorically. A felony is usually a legal term that points to a sentence, bondage, imprisonment, etc. Consider anything in your life that could threaten your liberty to exist normally, as you know it. Illness, depression, abandonment, separation, rape, and even crimes committed, are all factors that could threaten one's life or quality of life. A "felony" takes away your peace, freedom, rights, happiness, relationships, dreams, well-being and so much more. The greater message conveyed is, that in life you may receive terms and sentences that create bondage but even then, God is still real and at work. No prognosis or sentence should dictate one's destiny. There is no such thing as a mountain too high that faith alone can't climb. The author desires that every reader always remember that no matter what one experiences in life, never allow those things to control your destiny.
