Wounded warrior and amputee Ron Canfield rebounds from PTSD to land a job as basketball coach at the high school where he once starred. But the teacher’s union challenges Ron’s mental stability, and irate parents demand that he play white kids ahead of more talented blacks.

The stakes are high. The starters on his team have a shot at basketball scholarships worth more than $200,000. People have been killed for less. Much less. They’ve been killed for a pair of high tops.

But, as a Marine, Ron was trained to run toward the sound of gunfire. And, as a proud African American man, he is not about to be cowered by knuckle-dragging racists.
