A student forgets her permission slip to a school field trip and instead finds herself placed in the detention room of all places. The teacher possesses a sense of humor and commitment to education. He inspires the children to focus on the positive, and emboldens them to achieve at levels they thought were impossible and in the process, students inspire him.
