Thanks For Nothing

It is Halloween and Christmas versus Thanksgiving in a festive, fun-for-all-ages battle of the holidays. Hampton Dellinger’s “Thanks for Nothing” tells the story of how two boys and a grandmother make sure Thanksgiving is celebrated properly despite being increasingly overshadowed by Halloween on one side and Christmas on the other. This funny, poignant, and beautifully illustrated holiday story is also educational. Character names evoke historical figures responsible for the Thanksgiving we celebrate today. A glossary connects the characters to their famous namesakes. Each book also provides a page for child readers to write down what they are thankful for. The author, Hampton Dellinger, lives in North Carolina with his wife Jolynn, son Jackson, and daughter Austen Grace. His writings for adults have been published in the Harvard Law Review, the National Law Journal, and several newspapers. This is Hampton’s first book for children.
