Dart Dartmouth prepares for the biggest race of his life; the Triple Muzzle-Mart Grand Stakes. But as the day unfolds, and the race reaches it's final leg, an accident unravels causing injury to Dart, robbing him of the Triple Muzzle-Mart Grand Champion title. Dart's owners react cruelly to the outcome of the race by setting a despicable plan into place. Only Gumbo, Dart's best friend, is aware that this once famous greyhound is being sent on a trip from which he will never return.
