The great Romantic composer Robert Schumann (1810-1856) wrote this little book of "Advice to Young Musicians: Musical Rules for Home and in Life," in 1848, inspired by his own young children. Originally intended as part of his Album for the Young, op. 68, today it is perhaps a little-known literary legacy. The precepts in this book will inform, amuse, and inspire musicians of all ages.
