This book is about the author as a young, barefoot boy in the 1940s, the decade that also contained World War II, the world wide event that changed everyone's lives. He lived in a marvelous area for a young rambunctious boy. His family lived on a farm in northwestern Wisconsin that had a major U. S. Highway going through it.

The main railroad in the area ran less than one-half mile away. There were hundreds of acres of forests that all needed to be explored and numerous lakes and streams to fish or swim in.

There was no television in the area at the time, and the country school was the main focus of the neighborhood. The author tries to take the reader back to a time and place that was far simpler than today.

The book contains nearly 60 short stories, many of which are humorous. The book is factual and hopefully will give the reader a chuckle or two.
