It Was A Beautiful Day When Sadie Was Born is a full-color, illustrated book about the beauty of nature on the day a new grandchild was born. The book discusses the wildlife found in and around the lake in the backyard of her Grandparents' homes in Florida and upstate New York during the autumn of the year. Some parallels are drawn between what the animals teach their babies and what human parents teach theirs. The book contains a letter to the adult grandchild expressing the thoughts and hopes of the grandmother for the grandchild as she grows to adulthood.
