Kingdom and Covenant: A tale of two cities, two covenants, and two Kingdoms

COVENANT is about RELATIONSHIP.
KINGDOM is about RULER-SHIP.

God relates to His people through the covenants.
God rules His people through the Kingdom.

The Bible is a tale of two Covenants,
one old & one new;
a covenant of the law & a covenant of the Spirit.

It is a tale of two Kingdoms,
"the kingdom of the world" and the "Kingdom of our Lord, and of His Christ" (Revelation 11:15).

It is finally the tale of two Cities, which lie at the heart of each kingdom.

The city of Babylon, which is the seat of government for "the kingdom of the world."

And the city of Jerusalem, which is the seat of government for the "Kingdom of our Lord, and of His Christ" (Revelation 11:15)

Jerusalem is the city from which Jesus will rule all the earth (Zechariah 14).
