The author comes from a family of freedom fighters who actively participated in India's independence struggle during last millennium in the nineteen forties, and has vivid memories of all that he has seen from his tender age of just five years.

In this book he recalls this freedom struggle through all the happenings, ups and downs, in his life as well as those in the life of his parents and grandparents. He weaves this history and these events in the form of a biographical sketch that includes his late grandparents and parents. Towards the end the book, his own life's instances to date are chronicled, which essentially reflect his own twist and turn of destiny.
