...to the saints on stage screaming about liberation and unions, and to you, you lovely worshippers of the mystical night,

this is my hope, that you may see it all, the canals of Venice, and the terraces of Montpellier; the Muslim communities in London; the bookshops of Paris; and the hills of Ireland; the temples of Beijing and their bitter green tea; that you may feel the freedom and exhilaration of getting lost in the bush of Mozambique; that you may see the faces of the children in Costa Rica; that you may get drunk off of gluhwein at a Christmas market in Dresden, or even off of a case of Great Lakes while roaming the streets of a small town in the Midwest state of Ohio-this is my hope, that you may see it all, and maybe not as I have seen it, but with the lights and the music...
