From the day she was born twenty-seven year old Jessica McGinty lived a fortunate life filled with wealth and surrounded by love. As an only child of over-protective parents she was shielded from any harm or pain, but when the stress of her job finally became too much she was forced to take time off, and old insecurities came back to haunt her with devastating consequences.
In a bid to cope Jessica turns to self-harming on a daily basis and devoted boyfriend Aidan is at a loss on how to stop the woman he loves from hurting herself. After a failed suicide attempt they both realise that things need to change...before it's too late.
It is only when Jessica's mum is diagnosed with stage three breast cancer that she finally understands how fragile life can be and begins her road to recovery. Now she has to fight for her own - and her mother's - survival.
