The Car and The Man

When I was five years old I witnessed a tragic accident that involved my family and sadly tore us apart. I have wanted to share my story for as long as I can remember. I hope that by identifying and sharing my actions and interactions with the people in my life will help another person in the same situation. I have identified many of my own character issues that helped me cope with seeing the accident. I have also learned what I did wrong and the impact certain behaviors I acted out, hurt me. I am glad to say I sought help years later. Through counseling I have been able to identify what some professionals call 'triggers', of certain behaviors. I have learned a lot about myself and I hope my story resonates with other's who have been unfortunate to have a tragedy occur in their family. You are never too old to seek help and learn to understand why some of do what we do, whether it is right or wrong. This story is also for all the other children out there who have been unfortunate to witness something horrific. My heart goes out to them along with my thoughts and prayers
