SLUM BEAUTIFUL is a play that invites its audience to East Point, Georgia: an African-American neighborhood that the million-dollar high-rises and luxury hotels decided to overlook. Yet, it is the epicenter where Atlanta's wealthy and working class co-exists. In this community, class, values, and the American dream meet, mix and are reborn every day. This funny, yet intense drama finds love, laughter, and heart-break in a neighborhood that is not the quintessential picture of Atlanta and its Black affluence.

The play is one of cycle of five plays that chronicles Southwest Atlanta over the five decades between the civil rights movement and the second election of President Obama. Each story is a fictional representation of the African-American experience during the 1960's until 2013.
