Poems to be Determined: (Eine Sammlung Gedichte ber Sein)

This collection of poems explores in a very small way the age-old existential question of how one is to live one's life. There is in this notion of course nothing new at all. Far greater expressions of what it means to be, and the contemplation of its opposite state, are available in many artistic forms by many artists.

These poems are my own small addition to that larger body of necessary work. By definition, such a book is solipsistic. Writing about oneself is always that.

Central to many of these poems is my use of alcohol to escape myself. This motif figures in many of the poems I wrote during the years when I used it to excess. By doing so, I harmed many who were around me. This book records some of those moments as I lived them and later remembered them.
