Vermont Trout Ponds is a personal selection of some of Shea's favorite lakes and ponds. The selection is categorized, and features destinations that range from family-friendly to some of the most remote and trailless water bodies in the state. Detailed directions to all the lakes and ponds are provided. The book covers 20 lakes and ponds and includes 21 maps, more than a dozen of which are depth charts. Where appropriate, roads, trails, boat accesses, and campsites, are represented. Best of all, all these places provide a setting for some rip-roaring tales of past visits. The result is a book that is at home in the armchair, the glove compartment, or the backpack.

Vermont angling geographer and author, Peter Shea, has written trout fishing books on Vermont for more than thirty years. He is co-author of such Vermont classics as The Atlas of Vermont Trout Ponds and Vermont Trout Streams, and the author of In the Company of Trout, Long Trail Trout, and Vermont's Trophy Trout Waters.
