I'm A Survivor: A Young Netherlander's World War II

Rotterdam is bombed on 14 May 1940. Bert den Bakker, a teenager living in north west Holland declares his personal war on Hitler and the Nazis. This story chronicles Bert's experiences during the occupation and how at eighteen he is sent to Berlin as a forced labourer. He promises his family he will survive. This he does, but then there's the question of escaping the beleaguered city as the Russians approach, and of getting home.
