The enigmatic hermit Mr. Wight has passed away, leaving his fortune to the estranged Mr. Fairlie. Mr. Pinnacle Tricks, Fairlie's assistant, is unceremoniously ushered off to Wight's isolated home in a Northern European forest to resolve the matter of the will. What begins as a routine task for Tricks quickly unravels into a mystery far bigger than he could have imagined. A love triangle, an unclaimed fortune, missing persons and ghostly sightings; nothing is what it seems and Tricks, an unwilling passenger to it all, must discover what is real and what is merely an illusion.
