This is a story of faith, of failure, and of ultimate salvation. Tom Whalen left behind the world of men, joinging other men who fouight private demons and worked to find a better way of being human. He spent ten years as Brother Tom, seeking God behind walls of a cloistered sanctuary.

One question haunted Tom, and it was this: Could God, God alone, really be enough for any man?  Tom's lapse, his return to the material world to savor once again all temptations of the flesh, will haunt the minds of all who read it.
