The story of 'The Miracle At Meganville Bluff' takes place in a small So. Carolina town in the summer of 1973. It traces the chance meeting of Jason, a white man returning to his hometown after two tours in Vietnam, and Laticia, a black girl studying to be a nurse, both in their mid twenties, who almost instantly fall in love.
'Meganville' vividly depicts their romantic, and erotic moments, and the eventual tragic end to their life together. Politics come into play as Laticia is pursued by Dolf, a wealthy young black man, and the son of a local politician. Dolfs' obsession with her leads to misunderstandings and a confrontation that comes to a head at the local Meganville cemetery. 'Meganville' tells of Jason and Laticia's happy, then occasionally saddened, times together while facing the often obvious, sometimes subtle disapproval of the local populace.
It is a snapshot of life as it was at that time in the south.
