Scott doesn't fit in at school. He can't, because he feels like his mind isn't his own.

When he finally escapes - kicked out of the first grade - he is able to pursue the education he really wants: finding out why he thinks and feels like an adult ... and why he has since the moment of his birth.

A hospital power surge on his birth date, an overloaded fetal heartbeat monitor, and a not-so-mad scientist's fried computer have given him an unwanted head start in life. His search for answers leads him to become Georgetown University's youngest student ever and the subject of a well-funded collaborative research project.

Now he's such a hot commodity that his very freedom is threatened. Some of the people involved have secret agendas, and even some close friends aren't what they seem.
