The Stellar Trilogy: Book 2: Awake

Kai isn't really from here. In Book 1 of this magnanimous trilogy, Kai discovers that she is an integral part of an intricately planned recognizance mission to retrieve her father and return him to their people. It seemed that she accomplished her mission. At least in part. She met her father. She found out the truth of her unusual birth circumstances. She and all of The Heaven's warriors helped save the world and free all the souls trapped by her father in Firewah. For Kai's part, she fell in love with an Elder and was pregnant with their son-the one designed "to replace the light they lost". But something went terribly wrong. In a twist of fates she wasn't prepared for, she was jolted awake from the dream of her very life and now she's faced with the kind of horrific reality even she couldn't have imagined was possible. None of it happened.

Now seven years have passed. Kai- once so strong, confident and brazen- is now a woman on the brink of break down. What she does not know is she is still as much a part of that recognizance mission as she ever was. But the rules have changed. The dream she lived so many years ago was actually a blueprint designed to prepare her for what's to come in her real life.

In this leg of Kai's epic journey, she meets the biological family she never knew she had and travels to the land of her true people to Meet the Moon and claim her birthright-a vital step toward completing her mission. The only thing standing in her way is a rogue Umpshai monk and a dubious band of apocryphal beings called The Dozen of Derg. The Derg have returned to complete their own mission of destroying the Earth and all of its inhabitants. Kai must learn the ways of The Stai to acquire a series of Talents she needs to complete her purpose. Only then can she and her family return to Earth, balance the Entwine and save the planet from The Derg-who have already begun their vile work.
