Bloom, Bloom, Bloom

A sing, song look at the seasons through flower photographs, created by artist Hazel Berger. This delightful children's book is sure to entertain with bright colors and big flowers. The artist has written a catchy poem to highlight a journey through the seasons starting with a Red Bud tree and ending with a Camellia bush.

The flowers are named in the back of the book. Next to a smaller photograph, there is further information about each flower. The book teaches that sunflower seeds need to be planted each year and magnolia trees only bloom 3-5 days for example.

The youngest child will enjoy the rhythm of the book. The rich photographs provide the perfect platform for naming colors. Older children (and parents) will enjoy the details discussed in the identification section. Mrs. Berger also asks thoughtful questions of the young explorer.

The artist was careful to utilize specific plant words, like stem, bud, and petal. Each are included in the poem. These 26 pages are purposeful and educational for the youngest child and perhaps the oldest adult.
