Wishing on Raining Stars: Book Two

I closed my eyes, willing myself not to cry, then rotated to see my tormentor. Tranquility treaded down the hall towards us. Her hair glinted under the dull light of the candles; every crinkle of her frown was shadowed. She had changed into a gold and black silk dress that covered her like fluid.
Her shoes clinked against the floor with purpose. A shiver disgorged throughout me. Goose bumps lined my exposed flesh and I felt my hair stand on end. This was it. She was going to kill me.
