Can we talk about truth?

Whether you believe in him or not, you'd probably acknowledge that Jesus Christ said some very audacious things about truth. He was no mere student or seeker of truth; he said he was truth. People who make such statements today get written off as being the very opposite of what they claim to be, and typically with good cause.

But should we write off Jesus so quickly? Has he not, at least through his historical longevity alone, earned a hearing?

Jesus identified himself as “a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God.” He never hesitated to claim to know, not only what truth was, but to have acquired such knowledge from God himself.
