Kristen Williams, one of Los Angeles's top fertility specialists, has devoted her life to helping couples realize their dream of having a baby. When not busy at her medical practice, she spends time traveling to various countries leading medical mission trips with her church. With a bustling work life, numerous accolades, a close group of friends and a mansion in the hills of Malibu, California-Kristen appears to have the perfect life. The problem with appearances is that often times-they can be very deceiving. Due to an unfortunate childhood accident, Kristen has been unable to have herself what she works so hard to give others: a baby.

After divorcing her first husband-due to his infidelity-Kristen put the prospect of love out of her mind and decided to concentrate on helping others. If she couldn't have a family herself, helping others do so was the next best thing-even if their happiness sometimes reminded her of her own private pain.

Kristen's life takes a surprising turn when one Sunday at church, thanks to one of her former patients, she meets Blake Nixon. Having just moved to Malibu from Switzerland, Blake, a physician himself, is happy to make her acquaintance. In not much time, their friendship turns into a world wind romance-eventually leading to marriage.

Blake and Kristen's love is undeniable to those around them. They are partners in every since of the word. Also, after much prayer, both of them have come to terms with the fact that it may always be just the two of them-meaning no children. That is, until an unexpected ray of hope comes their way.
