Community of Women: The Journeys We Take

Community of Women: The Journeys We Take is a collection of women's stories written by women about specific moments in their lives that changed them forever. The stories are a dive into the core of the subject matter allowing the reader to experience the various emotions that the author experienced and now fill pages. The stories cover life choices, love, marriage, childbearing, divorce, illness, death, sorrow, infertility, adoption, and careers; no area that concerns women goes untouched. The frank introspection, eagerness to share experiences, and the poignancy of material will ring true to women readers everywhere.

It is not for everyone to document a learning experience or challenging time in life. Plenty of women we approached chose not to partake. For those who did, it was emotional. It was risky. (This was the first time many of these writers told their stories outside their intimate circles). Old wounds were reopened. There were tears of both sorrow and fond memory. For some the writing brought closure. Some called it cathartic. Overall there was a general sense of calm with the satisfaction that they made it through their challenging time and that the journey they chose to share is now in their rear view mirror. Through writing and sharing their stories, these contributors can now look back with perspective, astonishment, and gratefulness for landing on their feet and surviving.
